How to Ace Your Mediterranean Diet?
Growing up in a Mediterranean country, I enjoyed the many benefits of a Mediterranean Diet without even knowing!
In 2022, the Mediterranean Diet – or MED Diet - was named the best by the U.S. News & World Report. Therefore, if you’re looking to shift into a healthier lifestyle, you might want to consider adopting this type of diets.
Here are some tips you can follow to ace your Mediterranean Diet, and don’t forget:

Favor non-processed, non-fried foods.
•
Choose seasonal, locally-grown products.
Go Light with Your Snacks
•
Focus on fruits and vegetables.
•
Consume raw nuts instead of salted, fried nuts and processed snacks.
Give Your Meals a Healthy Boost
•
Always start your meal with a colorful salad; introduce new veggies as you go.
•
Add seeds to your salad.
•
Embed your vegetables in your main dishes.
•
Consume more plant-based dishes including beans, chickpeas, fava beans, peas and lentils.

Focus on whole grains for your side dishes, such as whole-grain rice, pasta and parboiled wheat (bulgur).

Replace red meat with grilled lean poultry, fish and seafood.

Use olive oil instead of butter or ghee in cooking or sautéing your veggies.
